England destroy themself...Bilic

Croatia coach Slaven Bilic says Steve McClaren did them a favour by employing a 3-5-2 formation for England's defeat last night in Zagreb.
Bilic was scathing of England's performance.

He said: "I was hoping England would venture into the 3-5-2 system because I knew it would give us much more room to attack.
"I was thinking before the game that if they did that we would walk away with the three points and I was absolutely right.
"Now England have their backs to the wall. They have to go to Israel and Russia and have no room for any more mistakes.
"I was very surprised by them. After the second goal I expected them to attack like English teams do but that never happened. They failed."
Hundreds of travelling supporters yelled 'You're not fit to wear the shirt', 'What a load of rubbish' and 'One David Beckham' at England's players.
England failed to get a single shot on target until the 90th minute yet manager McClaren insisted his decision to switch to a 3-5-2 formation was not the reason for this humiliating defeat.
He said: "We've lost the game so obviously the tactics didn't work but that's not the reason for this result.
"How you lose the game is totally different. The change of formation was my decision, so it's my responsibility. When you come away you have to try to control the game and subdue the crowd. I thought that system would do that.
"I looked at our injuries and the suspension of Steven Gerrard. I knew it would be a difficult place to come and I wanted experience and character in the team.
"We came here to win the game and we haven't done that, so obviously it hasn't worked.
"I was very disappointed to concede the first goal from a cross and once that happened we were chasing the game. Then there was that awful bobble to make it 2-0 and that killed it."
