Croatia coach Slaven Bilic says David Beckham would be one of the first names on his team sheet.
Becks has been out in the cold since England's World Cup exit, but Bilic believes the midfielder still deserves a starting place.
He said: "McClaren has his reasons for not picking him but he would be in my team at the moment.
"He is still a great player. He has so much energy and I feel he is still very important to England.
"He can switch sides and make key passes and great long balls."
