Beckham the next knight

Video Safari

Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham could be knighted - well before retirement!
There is speculation the former England captain is in line for a knighthood in the New Year Honours List. It is thought PM Tony Blair is planning to recommend the footballer for his role in the London Olympic bid.
He was a central figure in the Olympic campaign and travelled to Singapore as one of Britain's best known sporting faces. Beckham became an MBE in 2003. A knighthood would cement his place alongside footballing greats like; Sir Bobby Charlton, Sir Bobby Moore and Sir Geoff Hurst.
If he does become Sir David, his wife will be entitled to call herself Lady Victoria.
