Boss Steve McClaren warns his flops they must improve or join David Beckham on the scrapheap.
He said: "A lot of players have got a lot to prove. When you go out of a tournament early like we did in the World Cup you expect to see a reaction. And I want to see that reaction against Greece.
"I have had a meeting with the players and stressed to them the importance of this game. Not just because it is the first of my era.
"I have stressed the importance of every game with England.
"I have stressed to them that I want to see passion and the right attitude."
McClaren also made it clear he will not tolerate any outside influences on the team like the infamous WAGS - wives and girlfriends - who dominated the headlines in Germany.
He said: "I want to create a no-excuses environment for the players.
"The whole caravan with England will always be there but we have to focus with an intensity on what we have got to do. Outside influences have to stay outside."
Terry is eager for his side to put on a show for the fans at Old Trafford after the dire displays in the World Cup.
He admitted: "We need to fill the stands with our performances. We want a very good performance.
"We had a chat among ourselves about taking our performances to the next level.
"We realise we need to show we are a good side and we need to do that with our performances and results."
