AC Milan step in for Gallas

AC Milan are reviving their bid for Chelsea defender William Gallas.

The Sun says Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has been alerted to the fact that Chelsea are finally ready to part company with Gallas.
The Italians had a £4million bid for the French international defender rejected earlier this year. They also failed to get Gallas as part of Andriy Shevchenko's £30.8m move from the San Siro and were told the player was not available at any price.
But Jose Mourinho has had a change of heart after Gallas made it clear that he is prepared to sit out the final year of his contract in the reserves. The signing of £6m Dutch international Khalid Boulahrouz has given the Blues boss the defensive cover he wants and Milan could land Gallas with a bid of more than £5m.
