Newcastle United are ready to tempt Charlton into selling Darren Bent with a massive bid for the striker.
The News of the World says Toon boss Glenn Roeder is preparing to offer a mega £12 million for Bent, who he sees as a direct replacement for the injured Michael Owen.

Addicks chairman Richard Murray has insisted Bent is not for sale, but a £12 million offer is sure to make him think twice.
