England's Rooney: I can go 120min
Wayne Rooney has told England boss Sven Goran Eriksson he's fit enough to play 120 minutes ahead of Saturday's quarterfinal against Portugal.
Eriksson's No 2 Tord Grip revealed: "Even before that match, Rooney was saying he could do extra-time as well, if it came to it.
"Now he is saying it again, this time with even more confidence because he lasted a full 90 minutes for the first time. He wants to prove he can do 120 minutes if needed."
Team fitness coach Ivan Carminati told The Sun: "Against Ecuador, Wayne was getting stronger and stronger. He should be able to play even longer next time."
