Ayala retires at Valencia
Valencia defender Roberto Ayala will end his career at Villarreal.
The 33 year-old Argentine is inside the final year of his contract at the Mestalla and his agent, Gustavo Mascardi, has struck terms over a three-year pre-contract with the Yellow Submarines.
As part of the deal, Ayala will have to cough up £2 million to Villarreal should he sign for another club upon his departure from Valencia.
Los Che president Juan Soler has so far refused to sell the veteran, who is wanted by Villarreal after Gonzalo Rodriguez's injury suffered earlier this month.
Mascardi, meanwhile, dismissed reports that he's talking to Real Madrid on Ayala's behalf: "The player won't consider going there."
